Ten years ago most British schools didn’t have school proms. They probably had a simple school disco at the end of term. Now more than 85% of schools in Britain have a prom
A school prom is usually to mark the end of secondary school in year 11 and year 13.
Proms are held in June or July, around the end of exam time or the end of term. The idea is to have fun with your school friends and celebrate your time and achievements at school.
But it’s more than a celebration, it is a chance to dress up in elegant outfits, perfect hairstyles, spray tans and beautiful jewellery – and the girls make an effort as well !
Being original in your choice of transport for your dramatic arrival at your prom is also important.
Chauffeur-driven limousine is very popular! How about a double decker bus, or a truck or a Harley Davison ?
Whether you agree with the idea of proms or not, they now appear to be a part of growing up for British children.
